List Enrichment

Our list enrichment tool allows you to upload CSV files containing email addresses for bulk enrichment. Every row gets the full Fuego treatment: organization category, risk level, abuse flags, and organization intelligence. This is ideal for segmenting existing lead databases or prioritizing new lead data.

How to Enrich a List

Step 1: Prepare Your File

  • Create a CSV file with your email addresses
  • Ensure your file has a header row with at least one column containing email addresses
  • Each row should represent one lead

Step 2: Upload Your File

  1. Log in to your Fuego account at app.gofuego.io
  2. Navigate to the “Lists” section
  3. Click “Upload New List”
  4. Select your prepared file
  5. Fuego analyzes the file automatically; the list status becomes ready to enrich when analysis completes
  6. Click “Start Enrichment”

You can also do all of this through the API — see the bulk list endpoints.

Step 3: Track Progress

A list moves through these statuses:

Status Meaning
uploaded The file has been received
analyzing Fuego is detecting columns and counting rows
ready_to_enrich Analysis is done; enrichment can be started
enriching Rows are being enriched (progress is shown)
finalizing Results are being assembled
completed The enriched CSV is ready to download
error Something went wrong — contact support if it persists

Step 4: Review Results

Once enrichment is complete, you’ll receive:

  • Summary statistics for your list
  • A downloadable CSV with enrichment data for each row

Understanding Your Enriched CSV

The enriched file contains your original columns plus:

Column Description
category enterprise, smb, education, government, nonprofit, individual, disposable, or unknown
risk low, medium, or high
syntax_valid Whether the address is syntactically valid (invalid and unknown rows are refunded)
role Whether the address is a shared role address (info@, support@, etc.)
free Whether the address uses a free consumer provider
disposable Whether the address uses a throwaway email service
plus_address Whether the address uses plus addressing (user+tag@domain)
has_mx Whether the domain has DNS MX records (DNS lookup only)
did_you_mean Suggested correction for likely typos
organization_name Name of the organization behind the domain
organization_industry Industry, from a fixed list based on the NAICS 2022 subsectors
organization_country 2-letter country code
organization_employees Approximate employee count
organization_employee_range Employee range band (e.g. 11-50, 10000+)
organization_ticker Stock ticker (public companies only)

Understanding Your Stats

Each completed list includes summary statistics:

  • low_risk / medium_risk / high_risk: Count of rows at each risk level
  • error: Rows that couldn’t be enriched (these are refunded)
  • categories: Count of rows per category (enterprise, smb, education, government, nonprofit, individual, disposable, unknown)
  • role / free / disposable / plus_address: Counts of rows with each flag

Use the stats to gauge list quality at a glance: a high high_risk or disposable count means a lot of junk data, while a healthy enterprise count means sales opportunities.

Best Practices

  • Only enrich opt-in lead lists you have permission to use
  • Segment your audience by category and employee range
  • Use the risk column to quarantine or remove junk rows before they reach your CRM
  • Route enterprise and government leads to your sales team
  • Use did_you_mean suggestions to recover leads with typos

Pricing

  • Each enriched row uses one enrichment from your monthly plan; syntactically invalid rows and rows that error are refunded
  • Lists are capped by plan: 25,000 rows (Starter), 100,000 (Growth), 250,000 (Scale)
  • New accounts get 100 free trial credits — no credit card required
  • See pricing for plan details — subscribers are never hard-stopped; usage beyond quota is billed as overage
